MAKE IT FROM SCRATCH: Teriyaki Sauce
I needed teriyaki sauce as a marinade for some yammy grilled salmon last night. Well, I went to the local market and they had two brands, both of which had HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP as the main ingredient. I whipped out my phone and decided to look up some recipes to make it myself.
I combined and modified the recipes slightly and made a great sauce. I’ll never buy the bottled kind again!
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce 1 cup water 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 2 tsp crushed garlic 1/4 C packed brown sugar 2 tablespoons agave nectar 1 tablespoons cornstarch 1/8 tsp sesame oil Dash of rice vinegar Pinch of salt
